Introducing Amara: The Largest 48-Meter Phinisi for the Pacific High Fleet

BIRA – Alur Biru Pariwisata (ABP), a subsidiary of Sinarmas LDA Maritime, together with Pacific High proudly introduces Amara, an upcoming 48-meter Phinisi that will become the largest vessel ever built for the Pacific High fleet.

Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “eternal,” Amara reflects a timeless journey: one designed not only to offer comfort and refined hospitality, but also to create a deeper connection between people, the sea, and Indonesia’s maritime heritage.

Currently taking shape by hand in Bira, South Sulawesi, Amara is being built in one of Indonesia’s most renowned centers of traditional Phinisi craftsmanship. The construction process embraces generations of shipbuilding expertise passed down by local artisans, while integrating a modern design philosophy to create an authentic yet world-class sailing experience.

Through this collaboration, Alur Biru Pariwisata and Sinarmas LDA Maritime aim to contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s maritime tourism industry by delivering journeys that are immersive, meaningful, and deeply connected to nature and culture. More than introducing a new vessel, this project represents a shared vision to elevate Indonesian sailing experiences on the global stage while preserving the authenticity of local maritime traditions.

Designed around the philosophy that “the sea begins at your cabin door,” Amara is envisioned to bring guests closer to the ocean in every aspect of the journey. She will feature three spacious main deck cabins, each offering direct access to the water, along with an additional guest cabin located below deck. Every space aboard Amara is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, serenity, privacy, and a seamless connection with the surrounding seascape.

More than a luxury sailing vessel, Amara is built upon the belief that the ocean has the power to transform perspective. The closer one is to the water, the deeper the journey becomes. This philosophy is reflected throughout every detail of the vessel’s design and guest experience.

As part of a broader commitment to supporting Indonesia’s maritime and tourism sectors, Amara also symbolizes the meeting point between Indonesia’s rich maritime heritage and a contemporary hospitality approach centered around quality, authenticity, and premium experiences.

Looking ahead, Amara is expected to become a new representation of Indonesian Phinisi experiences for the global market — offering voyages that are intimate, meaningful, and deeply rooted in the beauty of Indonesia’s waters.

Construction updates and the first 3D renders of Amara will be revealed soon. Amara is set to sail in 2028.
