On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Sinarmas LDA Maritime (SLM) officially took delivery of its newest tugboat, SLM HERAKLES 2, which was built at Tuong Aik Shipyard, Sibu, Malaysia.

This handover ceremony marked an important milestone in the vessel’s construction journey. The delivery was carried out by Mr. Datuk Lau Nai Hoh, Managing Director of Tuong Aik Shipyard, and received by Thierry Escarabajal, New Building Director of SLM.

SLM HERAKLES 2 is powered by 2,400 Horse Power (HP), making it one of the most powerful and reliable tugboats in its class. The vessel is specifically designed to support towing operations and the maneuvering of large ships, both in port areas and in restricted waters, such as rivers or narrow passages.

The arrival of SLM HERAKLES 2 is part of the company’s fleet development and modernization program. The vessel is expected to strengthen SLM’s maritime operations, particularly in supporting increasingly complex and dynamic logistics and shipping activities across Indonesia and its surrounding regions.

The successful handover also reflects the strong and continuous collaboration between Sinarmas LDA Maritime and Tuong Aik Shipyard in building high-quality vessels that meet international safety and performance standards.
