Sinarmas LDA Maritime Officially Launches the Self-Propelled Barge “SLM Aphrodite” in Paiton

PAITON PORT – Sinarmas LDA Maritime (SLM), a leading company in shipping logistics, proudly announces the official launch of its latest self-propelled barge, SPB. SLM Aphrodite. This vessel is expected to further strengthen the company’s commitment to providing efficient and sustainable sea transportation services. The SPB. SLM Aphrodite launching ceremony was held on Monday (03/02/2025).

Held in Jetty Paiton Energy 7&8, the event was attended by Sinarmas LDA Maritime’s management, business partners, as well as government and maritime industry representatives. The launch of SPB. SLM Aphrodite marks a strategic step for the company in responding to the growing market demand in the cargo shipping sector. SPB. SLM Aphrodite is the sixth and final vessel in a series of six SPB vessels owned by SLM. The event was also attended by Head of KSOP Class IV Probolinggo, I Gusti Agung Komang Arbawa, S.H., M.H., and Deputy COO Sinarmas LDA Maritime, Arthur H. Kunsiang.

“We are very excited about the presence of SPB. SLM Aphrodite as part of our fleet expansion,” said CEO Sinarmas LDA Maritime Matthieu Lavoine. “With more modern technology and higher efficiency, this vessel will play a crucial role in supporting our maritime logistics operations.”

SPB. SLM Aphrodite was designed in 2024 with a total length of 129.30 meters. The vessel features a cargo space measuring 99.2 m x 22.4 m x 4.5 m and is classified as a deck cargo vessel, capable of carrying up to 13,000 tons of cargo. It is built to the latest safety and sustainability standards, incorporating eco-friendly technology that reduces carbon emissions. The vessel will operate along major trade routes to ensure smooth global cargo distribution.

With this launch, Sinarmas LDA Maritime further solidifies its position as an industry leader that is both innovative and future-oriented. The company will continue to invest in fleet development and advanced technology to support a more efficient and sustainable maritime industry.

 

Inspection and Certification of SLM Aphrodite by the Transportation Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore

On the other hand, SLM’s self-propelled barge, SLM Aphrodite, has successfully passed the inspection and certification process conducted by the Transportation Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, Mr. Wahyu Ardhianto, ST., MT. The event took place in Singapore on Saturday (25/01/2025) and was attended by Sinarmas LDA Maritime’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Azis Muttaqien. With this certification, SLM Aphrodite is now fully prepared to serve various maritime logistics needs at higher standards, supporting a more competitive maritime industry.

“This certification is proof of our commitment to ensuring our fleet meets international safety and performance standards. We sincerely appreciate the support from the Transportation Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore for facilitating this process,” said Mr. Azis Muttaqien.
