In celebration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, Sinarmas LDA Maritime held an Independence Day celebration on Thursday, 20 August 2026, at the Parking Area of Sinar Mas Land, Tower 1, Floor 7.
Carrying the spirit of unity, teamwork, and sportsmanship, the celebration provided an opportunity for the Sinarmas LDA Maritime family to take a break from their daily routines and enjoy a fun afternoon together through a series of exciting activities.
The event began with an opening speech by Matthieu Lavoine, CEO of Sinarmas LDA Maritime. In his speech, Matthieu highlighted how the spirit of independence is also reflected in values that are important in our daily work, particularly unity, collaboration, and supporting one another as one team.
“We all have different jobs and responsibilities. Some of us work in the office, at the sites, and onboard vessels. But we are one team.”
Following the opening, the celebration continued with two exciting competitions that tested the participants’ teamwork, coordination, and strength: Bakiak and Tarik Tambang.
In the Bakiak Competition, teams of four were challenged to move together in one coordinated step and reach the finish line. Teamwork and communication were key to completing the challenge, creating an exciting atmosphere filled with cheers and encouragement from fellow employees.
Meanwhile, the Tarik Tambang Competition was divided into men’s and women’s categories. With five participants in each team, the competition showcased strong teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship until the very end.

More than just a competition, the celebration provided an opportunity to strengthen connections among employees from different departments. Differences in roles and responsibilities did not become a barrier to working together, having fun, and supporting one another.
Through this celebration, Sinarmas LDA Maritime hopes that the spirit of independence will continue to be reflected in our teamwork, sportsmanship, and togetherness, both in our daily activities and in facing future challenges.
